Nelly is bringing a National Thoroughbred League team to his hometown. Nelly has announced the purchase of the Seattle team and will relocate it to St. Louis, and the team will be called the Nellies. What NTL is doing is making the sport more accessible, so everyone from kings to commoners can enjoy.” The horses will run at Fairmount Park in nearby Collinsville, Illinois, which has undergone a $100 million renovation  Randall Lane, CEO of the National Thoroughbred League, is looking forward to the league expanding to St. Louis. “You look at the Cardinals, St. Louis supports its teams and falls in love with its teams. We’ve talked to the mayor’s office about this and coordinated there. It’s a city that loves sports, that wants to support its teams, and Fairmount Park is 100 years old. It’s really historical, old track that they’re putting $100 million into,” Lane said in a recent interview with FOX Business. “We like going where there’s investment. We like going where there’s a century-old tradition of horse racing. But we wouldn’t have done this without Nelly spearheading it, because having local ownership, having somebody that’s so synonymous with the city to the point of even the name is so fun. I mean, the St. Louis Nellies. Almost all of our teams have horse-related names, but it’s both smart and speaks to the fact that we’re trying to create a team that speaks to St. Louis itself.” To celebrate the new team, Nelly will host the NTL’s Nelly Cup at the track on July 19. The day will also include music by White himself and a Nelly-inspired fashion show.

Raphael Saadiq is heading back on the road. After sold-out shows  at the Apollo Theater in New York City, Los Angeles’ historic United Theater on Broadway, and in his hometown  of Oakland at the Fox Theater, Saadiq will be taking the stage with the No Bandwidth: One Man, One Night, Three Decades of Hits tour to several venues across the country. In a statement, Saadiq shared his vision for the show and his excitement about performing a one-man show. “I’ve always wanted to do a one-man show. Keke Palmer is sharing the details of how she achieved her sculpted physique. At the Essence Fest on Sunday, July 6,  Palmer spoke to PEOPLE about giving birth to her 2-year-old son Leo and how she got back in tiptop shape “You have to get back to yourself after the baby. It’s really, really hard. Anybody with kids knows sometimes it can take 3, 4, 5 years,” Palmer said.“It really wears your ass out.” One component of Palmer’s regimen is waking up in the morning and getting active before she begins her day. “I’m a Pilates girl down, I don’t care. It’s the Pilates. And I need people to know it doesn’t matter what that scale says. It matters about the muscles,” she said. “That’s what I love about Pilates. The consistency of that will do wonders,” she explained. “And then I’ll say, make your own food. I know, I know it’s a lot. Nobody wants to do the meal prep sh*t, but making your own food and knowing what you put in it, it does wonders.”  “Making your own meals, keeping it consistent with some type of activity. It really does transform your body,” Palmer continued. “And then fun stuff. Sometimes we forget that everything don’t have to be a serious workout. What if I just go play tennis or pickleball with my girl? What if we just go swimming for a day? You know what I’m saying? Let’s walk around an amusement park with the kids.”  According to Palmer, having the right mentality and consistency has been the key with helping her stay on track with her nutrion even when she falls off the wagon “It is a mentality and it’s really just about knowing what our goals are,” she says. “I think for me, I really wanted to be strong and active in whatever way that meant for me. And it came from consistency and knowing that I had time for myself.”
